Update #1

Filed under: UncategorizedSodapop @ 4:32 pm

Hey everyone, Sodapop here.

I received a call from Miss Monique’s mom at around 4:20 p.m.   I missed the call, but she left a message saying that the surgeon said the surgery went well and Monique was resting well.

I’m sure I will have more updates as I get them, so stay tuned!

YAY for Monique’s surgery going well!  I can’t wait to hear from her directly!  I’m having my Monique withdrawal right now.  We’ve talked via email, text and/or voice everyday for like a year now.

Until next time…

Weekend Yet?

Filed under: UncategorizedMonique @ 8:59 pm

I’ve been pretty tired the last few days and I wasn’t all that surprised when I woke up this morning feeling like I had been hit in the face with a board. My face hurt, my ears hurt, my throat hurt, ugh. I got in to see the nurse practitioner — the same beyotch I dealt with late last year who acted like my augmentin allergy was my fucking fault, since she couldn’t prescribe that to me — who, lo and behold, agreed that I have a sinus infection. To make matters worse, I also had cramps today. How is THAT fair???

I didn’t start to feel better until 7 p.m. or so. I napped on and off today so I’m going to take some tylenol PM tonight so hopefully I’ll be able to sleep some. Blech.

I’m in a mood tonight. I know why, I’m not feeling 100%, I’m bored, I’m lonely, I’m not going to the Ville this weekend because my car’s brakes are acting up, and I have zero plans for the weekend. I was — God help me — actually checking out MM’s MySpace page to see what he’s been up to. Then I realized what I was doing and why. He bored me, the spark came and went, he has that fucking house … so why am I thinking about him? Boredom is a dangerous thing, my friends.

If you stop by Miss Sodapop’s place, give her a hug. Tomorrow is the anniversary of a very sad day for her. You know I’ll be thinking about you, punkin’.

How Is It Sunday Evening?!

Filed under: My life, UncategorizedMonique @ 5:06 pm

Friday, my coworker S lost her job. She was a happy bitch, practically dancing, while I was pouty. It wasn’t a surprise, she had been told that her position might be eliminated, but still. I’m running out of people to talk to at the office! Not surprisingly, I didn’t get much done yesterday. It was all yap, yap, yap all day. People gossiping, people talking, whatev. Allegedly, this is the last of the planned cuts. I don’t know. I guess it’s all out of my control and I’m grateful to have a job. I’m also grateful that S. was so pleased. I hope she can make a new start.

I’m tired of my pale skin so I bought self-tanner Friday night. I got a spray so it’s easier to get my back. The first coat turned out pretty light, which is good, I suppose, so I put more on last night. So far, no Oompa Loompa-ness, which is always a plus.

This weekend has pretty much been a blur, it’s ridiculous how quickly the time goes even when I’m not doing a damn thing!

Quirkalicious

Filed under: UncategorizedMonique @ 8:34 pm

So. My beloved friend Ricardo has tagged me with this meme about 6 quirks that I have. Six? Only six? I may have to pare this down a bit …

1. I will not touch unfinished ceramic items. Will. Not. Cannot stand the feel. It makes me shudder and want to scream. Yuck.

2. I am terrified of grasshoppers. I’ve talked about this before but it is seriously true. They scare me beyond measure.

3. While watching hockey, I clap my hands above my head when the Red Wings score. I don’t do this any other time and have no idea why I do it during hockey games.

4. The first time a potential new gentleman friend calls me I will not answer the phone — even if the phone is literally right next to me. I have to hear the guy’s voice on the message before I’ll talk to him. I don’t recall never returning a call because I didn’t like what I heard … but the potential is always there!

5. I can’t stand to listen to programs with listeners who call in, whether it’s on the radio or QVC or something. It makes me so uncomfortable. I’m on edge, waiting for people to embarrass themselves. I think I learned this from my mom.

6. Speaking of my mom, if there is a beauty pageant on and we are together, we will watch it. Miss Universe is the favorite, thanks to the parade of nations, but Miss America also is good because of the “talent” segment. I am always interested in who the judges are. Why? Couldn’t tell you.

Now I’m going to tag Miss Sodapop, Miss Lucy, Miss Laci, Ari, Tori and Jen.

Show us your quirks, ladies!

Ugggggh

Filed under: UncategorizedMonique @ 1:38 pm

I woke up this morning with a migraine. WTF? I haven’t be eating anything that I know is a trigger … in fact, I haven’t been eating much of ANYTHING, other than my protein and veggies. Ugh. What made me doubly pissy is that today is Miss Laci’s birthday hoo-ha in the Ville. I textedmah bitches and Miss Sodapop suggested an ice bag. I was also texting a friend in Houston, who ended up calling me while I was in bed, ice pack at the back of my neck. I talked to said friend for about 90 minutes, after which time my headache was gone. Wheeee!

By that time it was after 1 so I knew I wouldn’t make it to KY in time for the Sex and the City movie, so I’m going to meet the girls (and Mama Laci) after the movie for din-din. I’m still in my pjs and basically haven’t packed a damn thing, but hell, I have an hour or so before I have to leave. :D

Winter Can Go Away kthxbai

Filed under: UncategorizedMonique @ 10:42 pm

MM decided to spend the night at his house. He called me last night and seemed to be doing ok, so this morning I sent him a text asking if he survived. His response? “Of course.” Oh, excuse me, Mr. Big Man! LOL He was kind of pissy, as he got a speeding ticket on his way to the house yesterday; I finally got him to tell me how much over the limit he was going: 23 mph. That couldn’t have been cheap. This morning, I got a text that said, “Damn it. I am going to regret this commute. Another cop stop.” “Ticket???” was my reply. “No comment.” LOL Who in the hell gets TWO TICKETS in 18 hours? I had the good sense not to actually tell him what I was thinking, which that I was envisioning our future dates all taking place at McDonalds while we ordered off the dollar menu! I offered to give him a driver’s education lesson tomorrow night. :)

Tonight, I met up with my friend K. While we were deciding what to do, a coworker called, grumpy, and she ended up joining us. We went to the restaurant where MM and I went twice and were there for about 3 1/2 hours. It was a lot of fun … until we left and discovered it was snowing. K. was worried and wanted me to stay at her place … there was maybe an inch on the ground LOL. It took me probably an extra 20 minutes to get home. It was a bit stressful but I didn’t have any problems. I am confident driving in bad weather but I’m not overconfident … and there’s a huge difference. I don’t mind going 5-10 mph slower if it means I am going to make it home alive. I HATE the assholes who weave in and out of traffic and drive like it’s 70 degrees and sunny out.

I have “Dirrty” by Christina Aguilera in my head. Make it stop.

It’s Hard to Type with Acrylic Nails

Filed under: UncategorizedMonique @ 11:16 pm

But they look kick-ass. Until tonight I had no idea there was an “American” manicure. The white isn’t as blinding as it is with a French manicure. Me likey.

My online dating foray is going even better than expected — Miss Laci winked at me! LOL She decided to put her profile online and sent it to me to spice up. So I confused Joe Montana for Joe Namath. LOL WTF-ever. My intentions were in the right place. I did get a super-creepy e-mail from some trucker (with no photo, of course), offering to take me to the edge and back. Uh-huh. He’s now blocked from sending me more messages. See ya, Mr. Potential Serial Killer/Rapist.

I met up with a former coworker tonight for din-din and drinks. We ordered chocolate martinis and Kim told the bar boy she wanted hers creamy, not clear. The bar boy, who was quite cute and had his eye on (a semi-drunk) Kim, said, “Is it creamy enough for you?” after we tasted the drinks. I nearly spit mine out all over the table and kicked Kim under the table. Kim was like, “Oh yeah, it’s creamy,” which warranted another kick. I was afraid to go to the bathroom for fear her drunken ass would do something stupid, but we made it back to her house with her marriage vows intact. I think Miss Kim is going to come over on the Friday night mah bitchez are arriving to join at least me and Miss Lucy for some cocktails and fun.

I think I’ve lost my course DVD for my class. Ugh. Not cool.

Tomorrow I am embarking on a big adventure: Ear candling! I bet you can’t wait to hear all about that!
