am a total spaz when it comes to keeping my data backed up. At times I’m diligent but other times I’m not and poof … that’s how I lost a TON of files when my old computer crashed. Sept. 21 is World Alzheimer’s Day. This is a cause close to my heart because my grandmother suffered from Alzheimer’s for many years. In fact, the signs of dementia started showing up nearly 20 years before she died.
One way to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease is to be socially responsible and host a Purple Party on World Alzheimer’s Day. I love to plan parties. 
What are some things you can do to have fun and raise money and awareness? Have a garage sale and donate half the proceeds (be sure to let your buyers know!). Collect contributions from your book club. Have a dinner party and ask your guests to donate what they would have spent on dinner and drinks if they had gone out to dinner.

When I was married, my then-husband and I owned a home. Home improvement was not my thing. I had no idea what I was doing … and either did my husband. We were paralyzed by indecision, mainly because it was so overwhelming. Should we start with painting? Or landscaping? Or add wood floors to the entryway? Update the front door? ARGH! Little did I know that knowledge is power.

I still don’t know why. And instead of putting the little cap thing back into the ceiling, he left the wires hanging down. IN OUR TELEVISION AREA. He REALLY could have benefited from a visit to Do It Yourself.com. Maybe I should send him the link.
