Blending

I was watching a DVD segment for one of the online courses that I’m taking. This hottie Italian guy with a fuckton of moola was sharing his insights. I shouldn’t mock, it was actually interesting. ANYWAYS. One of his points was that if you try to “balance” your life, it implies that you have to take something away from one part of you life to add it to another. Instead, focus on “blending” the areas of your life, like have friends at work, so your personal and professional lives aren’t totally separate. I, for one, have absolutely no problem with that; after I moved to Indiana from Michigan, I knew no one and I had to make my friends where I could find ‘em … at work.

But the other areas of my life? They could use some help. Now in addition to work, my “me” time, time with my friends, etc., I have school in the mix. I haven’t taken a serious class since I graduated from college in 1996. Since then, I’ve taken classes here and there but, yeah, numerology at the local high school doesn’t have the same level of responsibility as MMBA 6500 lol. I just need to chill the hell out, make a plan and know that I will get everything done.

I have to say, though, that this “blending” concept may help — especially when we are talking blending margarita mix and tequila.
