Monday Blahs …

Filed under: My lifeMonique @ 5:13 pm

I did virtually nothing yesterday. NOTHING. I woke up at 8 and was back in bed at 11, when I took a 2-hour-long nap. After that, I watched a few episodes of The Family Guy, ran the dishwasher, and went out to my car to get some diet Dr. Pepper. Yep, that pretty much sums up my day.

I found a ring in the parking lot Saturday and put up a few signs in the lobby. A girl called and described the ring to a T; when I spoke to her today, she said the ring had been missing for two weeks. She was shocked that I found next to my car. The ring has a heart in the center with an eensey weensy diamondy; it totally looks like something a boy with absolutely no money would buy a girl. Hopefully she’s young and not my age!

MM and I chatted on and off for most of the morning. At one point, I had three IM windows open … yeah, everyone likes to be productive on Monday mornings. I can’t wait to make-out with see him again.

I PPH A Good Date

Filed under: Love life, My lifeMonique @ 9:15 am

Ahhhh … I had a very nice time with MM last night. He came over about 7 last night and won points for telling me I looked lovely (I decided to wear a black and white sparkly shirt that happened to show a bit of cleavage and even put on eye make up … gray shadows with black liner. Meow.). We were at my place for a few minutes then left for the restaurant … where the was a wait of an hour and 45 minutes. Nuh-uh. So, we walked across the street to another restaurant, one of those places where you can also play arcade games, etc. Dinner was so-so although I had two big blue margaritas. I only ate half of my sandwich so I was done before him; while I was talking, I had my arms crossed on the table top and was leaning forward. He interrupted me and said, “I am trying to be a gentleman here but I can’t stop staring! Are you leaning forward on purpose to torment me?!” I just giggled. I insisted on paying, which kinda sucked because the bill was about $70 with tip. Oh well.

After dinner, we went upstairs to play games … it was so funny, we were both doing that thing where you kind of sort of accidentally bump into the other person/stand really close but act like you’re not quite doing it on purpose LOL. We were pretty evenly matched on skee-ball (we must have played a dozen games) but he totally kicked my ass in air hockey. I was shocked. I am blaming the margaritas! I did win a few games but he won far more … We played some other games; I remember a driving game (which I crashed more than anything), a shooting game, which didn’t work all that well, and another shooting game that was even lamer than the first. We stopped to play this game where you had to match three poker chips and then they disappeared. He sucked at it so instead of playing more he decided to try and distract me by standing behind me and kissing my neck (it was 21 and over at the restaurant by this point, so we weren’t scarring any small children LOL). We decided to leave not soon after that. ;)

Once we got back to my apartment, OF COURSE I invited him in. We watched TV for a while and hung out while I basically waited for him to make his move. He kept giving me that “look” and then finally kissed me. He said later that he was trying to work up the nerve. I was like, OMG, do I have to be any more obvious? I was sitting right next to him, he had his arm around me, my hand was on his leg … men can be so clueless/insecure. Although, I probably wasn’t helping matters by giggling, which wasn’t really caused by anything he was doing, just nerves and well, I giggle a lot anyway. And I discovered a very ticklish spot on his arm that he seemed to like very much and he even admitted that I could probably get anything I wanted out of him by stroking his arm in that spot LOL. ANYWAY, a delightful time was had by all and I kept my pledge to mah bitches that my pants would stay on; let me just say for the record that I am not opposed to my pants coming off, it’s that I’ve been burned before by going too far too soon and since I like MM a lot, I’m TRYING to take it slow.

So, yeah, we’re going out again … the next couple weekends may work in my pants-staying-on favor, as Miss Sodapop will be here next Saturday night and then the following weekend, I’ll be gone Saturday-Tuesday for Easter. Oh yeah, that still leaves Fridays for me to get into trouble … ;)

He is just so adorable and funny and we have so much to talk about and he has a nice ass and strong arms and I have to admit, it was kind of a turn on that he beat me in air hockey! But don’t tell him that …

Pre-Date Picking Up

Filed under: Annoyances, Love life, My lifeMonique @ 2:14 pm

It’s been a few months since I’ve hqd a man over to my apartment. MM and I are having dinner tonight and he’s picking me up. I told him that he can just let me know when he’s here but oh no, he wants to park and then come on up. Argh. For one, I do not like this because having a man here = my self-control goes out the window LOL. You know how it is, you’re alone, he’s looking at you like that, etc., etc. etc. Not that I have suddenly turned into a nun, it’s just that I am trying my damndest to get to actually know my next sexual partner so as to avoid any awkward post-coital conversations, like, “Hey, how do you say your last name?” or even better, “Ummm what is your last name?” (In my defense, it’s been three years since that happened lol.)

Another reason having a man here stresses me out is the whole first-impression thing. I moved from an 1,800 sq ft house into a 950 sq ft apartment with a garage to a 750 sq ft apartment in a matter of less than four years. I have a lot of stuff, still, despite how much it seems like I have thrown out or taken to Goodwill. I hate having to move everything to make it look like I am not a total slob when in fact, I just have too much stuff! I considered leaving my bedroom untidy, as a means to keep him out of there, but considering it’s like 1/3 of my apartment, I caved and made it so it at least looks neat when you look down the hallway!

And since he’s a big computer guy, I am paranoid he is going to want to see mine, since it’s new. I have deleted all of the personal data (i.e. my blog URL lol) and even moved my blog-related photos out of the pictures directory and renamed the WWWL folder. Over the top? I don’t care! MM does not need to know I have a blog let alone that I write about him and his haunted-house-related wussiness LOL.

Now watch, he’ll probably be here a grand total of 3 minutes or something. But at least I’ll have a tidy apartment. :)

Winter Can Go Away kthxbai

Filed under: UncategorizedMonique @ 10:42 pm

MM decided to spend the night at his house. He called me last night and seemed to be doing ok, so this morning I sent him a text asking if he survived. His response? “Of course.” Oh, excuse me, Mr. Big Man! LOL He was kind of pissy, as he got a speeding ticket on his way to the house yesterday; I finally got him to tell me how much over the limit he was going: 23 mph. That couldn’t have been cheap. This morning, I got a text that said, “Damn it. I am going to regret this commute. Another cop stop.” “Ticket???” was my reply. “No comment.” LOL Who in the hell gets TWO TICKETS in 18 hours? I had the good sense not to actually tell him what I was thinking, which that I was envisioning our future dates all taking place at McDonalds while we ordered off the dollar menu! I offered to give him a driver’s education lesson tomorrow night. :)

Tonight, I met up with my friend K. While we were deciding what to do, a coworker called, grumpy, and she ended up joining us. We went to the restaurant where MM and I went twice and were there for about 3 1/2 hours. It was a lot of fun … until we left and discovered it was snowing. K. was worried and wanted me to stay at her place … there was maybe an inch on the ground LOL. It took me probably an extra 20 minutes to get home. It was a bit stressful but I didn’t have any problems. I am confident driving in bad weather but I’m not overconfident … and there’s a huge difference. I don’t mind going 5-10 mph slower if it means I am going to make it home alive. I HATE the assholes who weave in and out of traffic and drive like it’s 70 degrees and sunny out.

I have “Dirrty” by Christina Aguilera in my head. Make it stop.

So, Yeah, I’m Freaked Out

Filed under: Annoyances, My lifeMonique @ 9:08 pm

I came home tonight to see the hallway littered with xeroxed fliers. I saw the words “CRIME ALERT” in big, black letters. Apparently there have been a “rash” of armed robberies in the parking lot of my building plus a few other buildings near mine. What. The. Fuck? OMG. They have all occurred during midnight and 7 a.m.; hopefully with the publicity, the douchebags will stay away. Tomorrow night I was going to see my friend Gina perform at a drag show but um yeah, I’ll come home after dinner with my friend K. I’m probably overreacting but better safe than sorry, ya know?

So the ear candling bitch canceled on me AGAIN. I left work, drove the 30 minutes to the salon and when I was nearly there, her husband called to tell me that her appointment, which should have ended long before mine (I don’t know what type of appointment), was running late and could I reschedule? Oh hell no. One cancellation, I can understand. Two? Fuck that.

We had a birthday lunch at work today and although I offered to drive me and another girl separately, no, we all had to ride in the back of the birthday boy’s Expedition. Guess who got stuck in the way back of the Expedition? Yep, me and the girl who were going to drive separately. Granted, I was 15 years younger than the next youngest person, and M. was 20 years younger, but still! Why couldn’t I drive my own fucking car??? Jesus Christ. We were both so fucking pissed, it was actually funny. It did give me flashbacks of being put in the same position with the Former Flame a few years ago, while we both miserably hungover, and had to listen to 5 of our coworkers singing along to the radio while I just wanted to die. Good times. :)

MM called a while ago, he went back to the house this afternoon to meet with a contractor. No word yet on whether he is actually spending the night down there lol. He’s kind of the joke of my department now and he doesn’t even know it. Poor guy.

Boo!

Filed under: Love life, My lifeMonique @ 8:11 pm

I hate winter. Srsly. Make it stop.

I ended up leaving work at 3:30 today, the first time all season I’ve left early because of weather, thanks to the freezing rain we’d been having all day. I’d say there was about an inch of icy slush in the parking lot, and the passenger side of my car was frozen shut. It took me about an hour to get home. Yay, winter!

I talked to MM for about 90 minutes on and off last night. He closed on the haunted house and got freaked out after being there alone for 2 hours. I tried not to laugh at him but I couldn’t help it. I think he was embarrassed about his wussiness but I can’t say that I blame him — I wouldn’t want to be there alone either. I talked to him for about 30 minutes while he was still in the house, then my dad called so I talked to him for a while. I called MM back and talked to him for most of his drive back up here (the house is about 2 hours south of here).

This morning was the first time I got a “good morning” text message (although I think he worked the word “snarf” in there somehow) plus a few texts on my way to work. We’re going to go out this weekend … while we were talking, he actually said, “I actually called to ask you out again,” which struck me as pretty sweet, like a guy actually acknowledging it instead of just hanging out for six months or whatever! He took a disturbing photo for me of a Bozo doll that is hanging on the wall of his house. I guess in the room he usually sleeps in, there’s a doll that people have said moves. That’s a bit too Poltergeist for me. Gah. He invited me to the house the weekend after next but that’s when Miss Sodapop and I are going out with CBFI, which I briefly explained. I may ask MM to come, not sure.

He’s growing on me, that’s for sure. Now I just need a proper kiss to assess that end of things. :D
