Bam! Bam! Bam!

  • MM and I instant messaged on and off throughout the day. It was fun, except that he has this really irritating script set up where it sends IMs with individual words that he likes or thinks are funny. Like mango. By 4 p.m., I was like, dude, shut that the fuck up! Somehow he brought vampires into the conversation and I just had this moment of dread. I could tell he was typing and it was taking a long time so I knew he was typing a lot. I had the thought of, OMG, is he going to tell me that he fucking drinks blood??? Fortunately that wasn’t the case — because that would have been just my luck, you know.
  • He sent me a text last night that just said “Snarf.” Today he was impressed that I knew it was a character on the ThunderCats. He was so impressed I didn’t tell him I looked it up on Wikipedia!
  • I bought this new desktop about a month ago because my laptop was broke. Now my dad thinks that I “need” a laptop. He’s buying me one. I really agonized over this because no, I don’t “need” a laptop. The first one was actually sold out so I took it as a sign from God that I can, indeed, live without this laptop. But my dad found another one and actually called me in the middle of the day about it. Ugh. I decided just to thank him and accept the gift. When it comes to my dad, usually large presents are a result of guilt, although this could be provoked by me seeming extra pathetic since I’ve been sick all damn year. I didn’t even tell him that I went to a GA meeting with Miss Sodapop last weekend (my dad has been in AA for more than 20 years).
  • Speaking of the GA meeting, I got to meet Soda’s crush (CBFI) who is indeed a hottie. His friend was hot too, but in that, “I’m going to sleep with you then ruin your life” kind of way, lol. We decided that Soda should focus on her original hottie — there is a fundraiser up here in a few weeks and methinks she should go. It’ll be St. Patrick’s Day weekend — hello, perfect chance to get CBFI drunk so Miss Soda can use her feminine wiles on him!
  • Also speaking of the meeting, it was pretty emotional for me. I struggled for many, many years with my father’s drinking, long after he sobered up. I was a teenager and couldn’t reconcile addiction being a disease with his behavior … like, did it mean he didn’t have to take responsibility for anything he did? As an adult, however, my reasoning skills are a little more advanced so I’ve come to peace with the alcoholism … but it didn’t hit me until we were reading from the GA book that fighting addiction can be an every single second of every single minute type of thing. I learned more about Miss Soda and it makes me luff her even more for the person she is today.
  • I have been out every night this week so I decided to stay home tonight (and ummm also I have no plans LOL). I talked to two friends and my phone signal dropped out on each call. WTF? I don’t know where the interference was coming from. Pain in the ass.
  • I deposited the check from my ex today. Heh. I found out yesterday that Michigan, where we used to live, has alimony. Man, I screwed that one up.
  • I’m bored. I could clean but bah. Don’t wanna.

  1. WOW! I’ve noticed that big gifts or expressions of love are usually from guilt from my dad as well. Sometimes it’s just best to say thank you, and move on. The guilt is theirs to carry, not ours.

I’m working on the fundraiser thing. My sponsor wants me to drive up there with him, but I’m thinking of telling him I’m just going to drive myself, cause I’m staying over that night so we can go out. And it would be a great way to invite CBFI out and away from the program/GA stuff.

Snarf. LOL I laugh everytime I see/hear that name hahaha Just makes me giggly.

One day at a time sometimes turns into one second at a time, especially when I’m struggling. When I struggle with stuff (like with finances) that’s when I want to just escape back into addiction and not worry about things. However, thanks to the program I don’t have to do that today and I can choose not too. :) I’m honored you went to tha meeting with me and I’m happy you got so much out of it.

I have no plans this whole weekend. Which is good since I’m fighting another fucking sinus infection or whatever the heck this is :( I’ve been sick alot since I moved here and it’s really depressing sometimes.

    I need some coffee!

Sodapop’s last blog post..Well that was NOT the plan!
