I woke up this morning with a headache, sore throat and generally hurt all over. Last night I was asleep by 9:30 p.m. and slept straight through until the morning; I called in sick then went back to bed until 1 p.m. I feel better now, just tired still. Not sure how much of this is illness and how much is depression. I HATE not having any energy. Hate it hate it hate it. I went to the grocery this afternoon; snow is headed this way and you’d think it was the apocalypse, you know? Good gawd. Even the news stations were at the grocery stores. Reedickulous.
One of my friends called me last night, sobbing. She’s the one who is married to the guy with four teenage daughters. Her husband is a super nice guy but clueless. The girls are out of control and get away with tons more than Debby lets her kids get away with … they’ve been married for 2 1/2 years and while she’s bitched about things before, I’m not sure how much longer they will be married. Not a good situation.
That got me thinking. While in the past I have said that I want a relationship, really, I don’t think that I do. I can’t imagine dealing with someone all of the time or even sharing a bed with someone. Maybe I’m entering a hermit phase …

First off, go wish Miss Sodapop a happy blogaversary!
My new computer arrived today! It was an ordeal getting it into the building … I had to pick it up from the FedEx office and the guy carried it to my car for me. The box was much heavier than I expected. Fortunately, I have a rolling cart that my dad got me that has been in my car for oh, four months with no use. I was able to stack the box on top of the cart, though, and get the box inside. It was pretty easy to set up and I was up and going in a matter of minutes. It’s different to be using a desktop again but the monitor is so gigantic (20″ widescreen) that I can actually see it! Vista will take some getting used to and I still have to transfer over my files from my laptop but so far, so good.
It is really fucking cold outside. In fact, my computer is in front of a small but drafty window so I am going to have to do something about that. I don’t need to feel the cool winter breeze. I had another day of meetings today for work at a local POS Sheraton hotel … it was so fucking cold in there, I had my jacket on all day and at times, even my gloves. That displeased me greatly. It’s really fucking cold in my apartment, too. That displeases me even more than the cold hotel. Brrrr.

I was all jacked up tonight since there was FINALLY a new episode of House on. About 8:40 p.m., I heard a beeping and even Twittered that my neighbors’ alarm clock was going off and it was really fucking irritating. Reggie kept going over to the window, looking at me, looking out the window, etc. I was just like, whatever, and turned the TV up louder. About the time it registered that I was smelling smoke, the floor fire alarm went off. I knew something was up because it was way louder than usual so I guess when it’s on my floor it sounds different, which is good.
Let me just say that I am terrified of fire. As Miss Lucy and I were discussing when she called to make sure I wasn’t dead, I am so scared of fire that I left the building without the cats. I would like to be a good cat mommy but you know, when it comes right down to it, I value my life more. As I told Lucy, I didn’t want to be lying in the hospital, telling my endless parade of visitors, “But I had to get the cats!”
Anyway, I didn’t hear the fire trucks coming so I called 911 from my car. After waiting on hold for three minutes — there’s a recorded message that tells if you to set the phone down if you are in danger. Comforting, no? — I finally reached a dispatcher who transferred me to ANOTHER dispatcher, whom I told which apartment was smokey.
While all of this was going on, I sent a flurry of Twitters from the car, since I wanted to freak everyone else out since I was freaked out LOL. Everything is now ok, I found both of the kitties, they don’t seem to hate me for leaving them in the apartment. It’s about 15 degrees out now and I am very glad to be back inside.

And finally recovered from my hangover. My friends were shocked/in awe when I told them of my alcohol consumption this weekend. I have no interest in drinking, although I did offer to get smashed with Miss Lucy since a very stupid boy made her sad today. This boy lives in my home state, so we can pile in the Moniquemobile, kick his ass, then crash for free at my parents! And since Miss Sodapop admitted that she thinks my brother is hot, then hey, I may be playing matchmaker!!!!!
Oh! We have a new blog! During alcohol fest 2008, Miss Laci was insistent about buying a new domain … Soda and I found it more interesting to talk about penises so Laci went ahead and set up Klassy with a K where all four of us will be writing. Because we’re not really all that scandalous as of late but we are ALWAYS klassy!
