Keeping My Pants On Just Got More Difficult

Matt called tonight and we talked for about an hour. Time flew. I so adore this stage of a relationship, when you’re learning about each other and everything’s interesting and you haven’t heard the same story 15,000 god damn times. ANYWAYS. We both like tequila and he was a bit horrified, I do believe, the other night when he saw my big jug o’ Cuervo in my kitchen. Ok, cut me some slack. Aside from the time that was captured on video, when Laci and I did a shot, I save the Cuervo for my margaritas. Jeez. He likes Cabo Wabo, a brand I’ve never bought because it’s out of my price range (about $50/bottle, I think). He’s bringing a bottle over Friday night.

Holy hell.

How am I supposed to drink tequila AND maintain my modesty? Please. It is physically impossible. Everyone knows that.

Yet …the relationships I’ve had where I’ve jumped into sex — always my own decision, but sometimes, let’s be honest, I’ve had sex just for the sake of having sex — haven’t worked out. So. My only saving grace is that Matt is about a foot taller than me and hopefully holds his liquor as well as, if not better, than I do … so maybe one of us will be thinking somewhat clearly. Or not.

Oh yeah, and he totally laughed when I said that I can drink A LOT. Which I can. I not only have years of practice, I have genetics on my side. Pffft. I had six or seven drinks Saturday night and was just fine the next day, tyvm. Double pfft.

So Sick Of Moving!

I spent more than 4 hours at my old apartment today, throwing stuff out and cleaning. My car is jam-packed full yet there is still shit left. Tomorrow at lunch I’m going over there and loading up my friend S’s car, then turning in my keys. Thank gawd.

Matt and I txted and e-mailed today. On Sunday he offered to give me a back rub but laughingly said it had to be with my shirt off. Today I mentioned definitely needing one and after he said, “You know the rules! … I guess I could break them this one time.” I txted back that I didn’t say anything about breaking the rules … and he replied with “I just want to keep things from getting too crazy now. We have plenty of time to be crazy when we think it’s time to be crazy. ” OMFG how frustrating is that? LOL I appreciate the intention but damn, I’m not used to going this slow! However, it seems to be working out well so I’ll keep my pants on for the time being …

Back to Work :-(

First day back at work after vacay … yeah, not so productive. I replied to e-mails, did some work, txted Matt, e-mailed him some Halloween pictures … not sure how I spent the other 7 hours I was there LOL.

Speaking of pictures, here’s me all made up:

After work, I spent about 2 hours throwing stuff out of my garage. I was ruthless. Shoes, clothes, photos, letters … all gone. I don’t need the stuff and I really didn’t want to move it. I couldn’t give up my stereo equipment though. I still may, it’s in my car. I have some tubs to haul upstairs tomorrow. I’m taking the afternoon off to finish up over there and then in the evening, my friend S. is coming over to help me clean.

I found out today that a colleague, BD, who lives in Arizona has incurable cancer. She was treated for breast cancer a few years ago and had a very difficult time with the chemo. I saw her in August and thought she had turned the corner. Her hair was growing back and she looked healthy. Sadly, her breast cancer had returned and then this week, she found out that it had metastisized. She was given an estimate of 6 months to 2 years to live; she and her family — she has three small children — decided to forego treatment and enjoy the time she has left on earth. So sad. Please keep BD and her family, especially her children, in your prayers.

Oh Fuck

Matt met me at my old apartment about 2:30 today; we loaded up our two cars and then brought the crap back to the new place. We couldn’t get the freight elevator to work so we had to use the regular elevator … I think it was 5 or 6 trips. Yay. We hung out at my place for a few hours, talking, watching Children of the Corn and, of course, gettin’ a little smoochy-smoochy going on. About 7:30 he decided to leave; I popped a WW dinner in the micro and was surprised when he called. In a panic he told me he was car was gone. By the time I got downstairs, he had called the police and was on the phone with the tow company. The cop showed up in just a few minutes, which was great, but by then Matt had found out the car had been towed … and it would cost $168 to get it back. Yikes.

I offered to get some cash but he declined my offer and decided to go for a walk. I know better than to interfere with a man and a walk in a time of crisis lol. He’s been gone about 20 minutes; I don’t know if he was going to walk to the towing lot or not. I’ll call him at 9 if I haven’t heard from him. At least he didn’t seem mad at me, thank God; he gave me a big hug as soon as I got outside. I have a feeling we’ll be hanging out at his place for a while LOL. I also have a feeling I’ll be making my rosemary chicken to help smooth things over.

Halloweening Pt. 2

I LUFF my Tracy Turnblad wig so much I wore it for 90 minutes before my friends came over to pick me up LOL. Chris and Tommy decided not to go the Sonny and Cher route. Boo. Instead Chris was dead in a coffin and Tommy was a slutty witch. Of course we all looked fabulous. Photos to come when Tommy e-mails them to me. We got to the bar earleeeeee. That kinda sucked but gave me plenty of drinking time (all told I had at least six bacardis and diet cokes. Yummeh). Chris’s costume was the hit of the night; I lost count of how many people came up to take his picture.

I was drunk txting my brother (I can do that since he’s up all night lol). I was trying to avoid drunk txting Matt but he txted me first (although he wasn’t drunk). I made it home about 3 … when I woke up this morning my clothes were on the kitchen floor and my wig and inflatable hair spray can were on the kitchen table LOL.

Ok I need food. And to get dressed. And to get my ass in gear and call Matt since he’s going to help me haul shit out of my apartment. That may be the end of this fledgling relationship LOL.

Details Make the Man

Why is it that cufflinks are such a sign of sophistication? Honestly, I can’t think of one man that I know who wears French cuff shirts, but cufflinks are definitely a symbol of a well-dressed man. Hmmm maybe I just answered my own question there LOL. Cuff-Daddy has a HUGE selection of cufflinks, even some for women! Pink cufflinks! I had no idea! I gotta say, if I ever do go out with a guy who shows up all dressed up, wearing a shirt with cufflinks, he is SO paying for dinner!

Home Sweet Home

My Kum ‘n Go road-trip adventure of ‘07 officially ended today. Sodapop and I once again got up at the ungodly hour of 5 a.m. … I showered, got packed up and then we were off to the airport. My flight to O’Hare was nbd but I had a 3-hour layover that kinda sucked. Somehow neither Miss Sodapop nor I noticed this layover during the flight-booking process. Oh well. I wandered and walked quite a bit, talked on the phone, Twittered, e-mail, the usual. I got in about 2, got my car then zipped home in about 15 minutes (I’m much closed to the airport now) … I was so happy to see my boys, it was ridiculous. I dropped my bags and picked up Mr. Man and gave him a hug, then squealed when I saw Reggie and scratched his ears (he’s not to keen on the hugs). Then I took a nap LOL. Two mornings of getting up at the ass-crack of dawn is enough for me.

Matt came over tonight … we were going to go to a haunted house and corn maze but alas, it was pouring rain so we talked for quite a while. We ordered pizza then watched some crap-ass martial arts movie on Showtime on Demand. Eh it was free. I don’t think I’ll be ordering Showtime when my free trial is over. But I digress. I know you bitches and bastards want details. After 2 hours of build-up, he FINALLY kissed me when the movie was over. It was delightful. We talked some more, kissed some more, then about 11:30 p.m. he decided he should leave. I was falling asleep but I could still appreciate the temptation that I create. Of course now it’s after midnight and I’m wide awake, uploading vacation photos to Flickr and MySpace.

Miss Sodapop’s new apartment is super nice. I like it a lot. It’s very spacious and airy and the community seems quiet. Keep your fingers crossed that the movers arrive very soon!

Hola from St Louis

I’m writing this from my sidekick; we’ll see how it turns out, lol. I am at miss lucy’s house, in her son’s room (the children have been banished to the couches). It’s after 11 pm ct and although we’re leaving at 6 am, I can’t get my ass to bed. Le sigh. Lucy has two VERY talkative yet adorable kids; her daughter is a total mini-me. Mr Lucy grilled some delish burgers then spent the night trying to calm their dog, who wanted to eat Chloe and Josie.

I have fully recovered from Sunday’s nasty illness, thank God. We have been through NV, AZ, NM, TX, OK and now MO. I took lots of pics of mountains; I’ll post some when I get home. A lot of the scenery just looks like what I’m used to.

Miss Sodapop was happy to see her first deer … until she later saw her first dead deer on the side of the road. There have been a few other novel “firsts” although I can’t remember now. The trip highlight is a toss-up between tha black mold infested Best Western in Tulsa or the discovery of the Kum ‘n Go chain of convenience stores LOL. You can’t make this shit up.

Viva Las Vegas … Kinda

I made it into Vegas at approx. 11:30 p.m. Vegas time (2:30 a.m. Eastern time) … Miss Sodapop and I shared a big ol’ comfy king-sized bed (so for those of you keeping track, she has shared a bed with me and Miss Lucy). I woke up this morning thanks to doggy kisses from Chloe. Yum. I felt kinda wonky this morning but chalked it up to not having eaten in 16 hours or whatever. No such luck. I’ve puked twice today. I haven’t thrown up in I don’t know how long. I slept for a while, and Miss Sodapop just went out to get me sprite and saltines. Hopefully this will pass soon as we’re leaving in the morning on our drive. To make matters worse, we’re staying with her friends KP and LP, and their two little girls — I hope I’m not going to infect everyone else with my yuckiness.

Limo Guy is still txting. The latest is that he’s now a full-time bounty hunter. WTF? Matt called me last night to apologize for not calling sooner and to ask me out again. I haven’t’ called him back. Being sick has kinda taken precedence.

Think happy healthy thoughts for me!
