I weighed in tonight at Weight Watchers. I really just wanted to break even, considering I had been out of town, hadn’t exercised and ate candy. Well, ok, I really wanted to lose 1.8 lbs to get to 15lbs. But to my shock and surprise, I lost 4.2lbs this week! That brings my total to 17.4 lbs. Boo-yah!
I saw this on Charmed and Dangerous, and since I’m sitting on my ass, watching HGTV, why not do a thinky thing?
“If you had to live on a deserted island for 1 year, which 5 bloggers would you bring along with you and why?”
1. Izzy, she of no blog. I think we are long-lost sisters. Regardless, we have a lot in common and are two of the most fabulous girls on the planet. And besides, then we’d have plenty of time to talk about sex and how we’re not having it. STFU.
2. NYC Watchdog. The first time I saw his blog, I thought, holy shit, it’s me with a dick! Okay, not really, that’s just a reference to something he said about me. Anyways, he seems like a fun guy to have around. Plus, if there were any medical emergencies, he could hook us up. And while most NY accents get on my nerves, oddly, his doesn’t.
3. Mr. Fabulous. He sings, he dances, he writes crazy things. Plus, he said that I’m one of his favorite bloggers and a mutual-admiration society is never a bad thing.
4. Vera from I’m Not Obsessed. This is one of my most favoritest web sites EVER and I have no doubt that even on a deserted island, Vera would be able to find celebrity gossip to fulfill one of my most basic needs — being all involved in other people’s lives!
5. The girls at Gingerbread Latte. They’re so snarky and cool, I just love them.
I won’t tag anyone. I’m not feeling too mean today.
I woke up this morning to see an inch or snow of snow.
Ugh. The snow’s not awful, but it’s not something I want to drive 250 miles in either, especially with freezing rain on top of it. Ugh. So I’m gonna stay here until noon or so, and hope that the snow melts.
I think my writer’s block may be over … last night I put up my first post this year on my “other” blog. I couldn’t believe how lacking my … interest … has been. I have to admit, there was a bit of healthy competition with a fellow blogger. Maybe I am turning a corner. Then again, I need someone to turn the corner with lol.
I went to IKEA tonight and got Dave the laptop desk. It’s cute. But the fucking thing won’t go together right. The screws holding the stem to the top don’t go in securely. I can hold my laptop crookedly on my lap. I don’t need to pay $35 to have my laptop sit crookedly on a table. My mom was working on it furiously — I guess my pouty patheticness made her feel sorry for me — while I was uselessly trolling for men on Singlesnet.
So now Izzy has asked me not to do my video post on Cadbury eggs b/c they are her favorite. Bah. I have 2 Cadbury eggs and a package of Peeps in my possession, so I will just see what inspires me first!
I was going to use this time to record my first video post for this site, as part of my Easter Candy Sunday series. Alas, it was a disaster from the get-go using my dad’s desktop, and then when I set everything up on my laptop, there wasn’t enough light in the room. Ah well, I’ll try again tomorrow during the day. I want you to get the full effect of my hypnotic wallpaper. I am actually still up in the air with whether to start with Peeps or Cadbury Eggs. I fear that me eating a Cadbury Egg may be a bit pornographic, given the tongue dipping into the gooey stuff … but wait until I tell you what I was asked to do with a Peep. (Don’t worry, requestor, I will keep your anonymity lol.)
I added a Meebo box on my blog so you can chat with me, leave me messages, whatever. I don’t like giving out my Messenger ID to random people but this is an easy way to do it.
Bracket update: MSU lost, but it’s okay as I had them going out in this round. They definitely weren’t good enough this year to beat a 1 seed. Right now, I’ve picked 29/38 games and have 32 points. Not bad for only watching snippets of SportsCenter at the gym.
Biz-biz day for me. I met my friend Jennifer for a movie (”Premonition” — it was okay, unintentionally funny in a few parts, ending was dreadful) and coffee, then buzzed home for dinner and then went to the “Schoolhouse Rock” play. The play was cute and my cousin’s daughter is adorable. I was in major flashback mode, with songs like “I’m Just a Bill” and “Conjunction Junction.”
Speaking of major flashback mode, I heard “Rush Rush” by Paula Abdul today. I’m listening to it now on my computer. I remember the video with Keanu Reeves, back when Keanu was still cute. He and Paula, despite their somewhat advanced ages, played “Rebel without a cause”-ish teenagers, and there was dramatic dialogue too.
My visit is going okay so far. Yesterday there was some back-and-forth sniping between my parents, but my mom didn’t complain about him too much today. Ugh. I hate being in the middle of them.
Last time I checked my bracket I had 22 pts out of 28. Not bad.
Thanks y’all for registering — I have set everyone’s access who has registered to date, so you’re all set!
I drove to Michigan today; surprisingly, the drive wasn’t bad. I sang lots. I stopped three times. I got pop at the nicest McDonalds I have ever been in. I saw a dead buzzard. That was weird.
I’m excited. The shirts I ordered from my CafePress store came today. I can’t wait to give my brother his. LOL He’s going to love it.
Okay more stuff I thought of …
So my mom knows, of course, that I am doing Weight Watchers. Has she said one thing to me about it? No! I don’t care if she can’t tell a difference, but when you know someone has lost nearly 15 lbs., you freaking say something to them about it! And I know she has to notice, b/c some sales guy I hardly know and hardly ever see commented that I had lost weight! She did finally tell me my hair looked really cute. Grrr.
Now that I finally have a working mic for my computer, I am thinking about doing some video posts. But I’m not sure what about. I mean, do I really have something to say or am I just an attention whore, like Snarky Cool pointed out last weekend? Hmmm. Some days it’s a toss-up. I did think about Easter Candy Sunday, because I love Easter candy, like the Peeps I mentioned earlier in the week and chocolate Cadbury eggs. Yum. I brought my webcam with me (why? who the hell knows) so perhaps I shall do that this weekend, assuming the bead show my mom and I are going to doesn’t consume all of my time. Don’t worry, I’ll post a pic of the black and silver necklace I plan to make.
And I’ve decided. I’m going for the red streaks in my hair. I’m feeling fierce, like the tigress I am. LOL
