As If, Slickster

So I came home from my writing class — more on that in a sec — and my apartment was so fucking hot. It’s like an inferno in here. My thermostat says the temperature in here is 80 fucking degrees. Ugh. That’s gonna make for some pleasant sleeping tonight.

Ok. The class. It’s a fiction-writing class, which I signed up for because I desperately need help with my writing. I am so used to blog-writing and my work-writing that I can’t do much else. Anyway, the class is comprised of me and two guys. I guess that is good since I am trying to be more outgoing about my writing, and I had to participate just because I couldn’t stand the silence. One of the guys looked really familiar and my first thought was, Oh God, have I dated him? LOL I caught the other guy looking at me several times, then at the end of class, he repeated the other guy’s name then looked at me and said, “And your name was ….” I was like, as if, slickster.

I have a date this weekend. We may be going to a play downtown. He seems like a nice guy, although we all know how I feel about nice guys. But that’s a habit I’m trying to break. He just moved here for work from another cold-weather state so he is a hockey fan too. He actually asked me out last Saturday, but it was a spur of the moment thing and I had already eaten dinner. And, okay, fine, I was feeling totally ill-prepared for a date.

I swung by Weight Watchers after work and I’m down another 1 lb. That brings my total to 18.4 lbs. My goal is to have lost 30 lbs by Memorial Day …

Tomorrow is the big hair night … now I’m torn between red or burgundy highlights. I’m ready for some added sass!
