Irony
My mom and I watched “Super Size Me” this afternoon.
Now she’s frying perch for dinner.
We had to turn the TV up because the sizzling oil was too loud.
Sigh. I’ll be glad to get back to my pb&j meals!

Come on, it’s the midwest. We don’t have zillions of kinds of fresh seafood at our disposal. Actually, the perch was good; very mild. Not like ocean perch (or so I’ve been told). Whitefish is big in Michigan too. I’m not sure if that’s an actual kind of fish, or just a colloquialism. It’s usually battered and deep-fried, so it’s all good!
