My Date With Barry

Manilow, that is.

Yes, it’s 9:45 p.m. and I’m on my couch watching Barry on PBS.

Scott and I had a fun dinner tonight. While we were eating, he said, “I really like you. I want to keep doing this. I know I don’t go a good job of hiding it.” I was like, WTF??? lol We walked around quite a bit before we went to the restaurant and he never even tried to hold my hand, or anything.

Anyway after dinner we came back to my place and talked for a bit. He was coughing quite a bit still, and after he apologized for ending the date early, he told me again that he “really, really liked me.” He said that he wanted to see me again, and mentioned Tuesday, as he has an appointment by my apartment. I told him I couldn’t, as I have to work, so he said again that he wanted me to know he liked me. I told him that I was a little surprised that he called after the last date, that I wasn’t sure, and what was his response? “I know.” WTF??? So who knows. Maybe he had a date last weekend with someone else.

So I don’t know. I mean, I had fun with him. He’s good company. But I’m definitely not going to rule out dating other guys, if the opportunity arises. Oh, here’s an interesting fact: He’s 36. His last gf, whom he dated for a year, was 47!

  1. That was an odd response?? Hmmm….Seems like he’s being very cautious with this, which isn’t a bad thing. Sometimes the best things come to those who wait. I should heed my own advise since i’ve been feeling like things are going at a snail’s pace with firefighter guy. Geez…..men….

  2. you mentioned he didn’t even try to hold your hand - have you tried to hold his? he said he really likes you - have you told him if you like him? what kind of a vibe are you putting out?
